Néstor J. Pérez Almeida holds a degree in Architecture and a Master's in Architectural Project and Landscape Design from ETSAM (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), where he studied under Iñaki Ábalos, Federico Soriano and Juan Herreros. He began his studies at ULPGC in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
His Final Degree Project, PoPerimeTranS (2017, tutor Nieves Mestre, ETSAM), explores ephemeral architecture as a potentiator of temporary events — a perfectible infrastructural organism, adaptable typologically and programmatically to changing climates and social demands. This line of inquiry runs through his time at ENORMEstudio (Madrid, 2016) — temporary installations for the Oslo Architecture Biennale and BuildingMeStructure at Teamlabs Madrid — and at Vo Trong Nghia studio in Ho Chi Minh City (2015), where he collaborated on the Bamboo Pavilion and other structures in natural materials.
Since 2019 he has led Matérico Office, a studio based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria specialising in housing, rehabilitation and public space. He was awarded 1st Prize at the National Competition "Improvistos" (Madrid, 2017) and 3rd Prize at the Morro Jable Library Competition, Fuerteventura (2018).
